So Cute it HURTS!

September 19th, 2006

Travis, my amazingly cute boyfriend, has put some of his awesometastic artwork into digital form. Soon, he will launch a line of terribly cute t-shirts (and other clothes). It involves cute wittle aminals, and the possibility for comic mischief. Hell, he just might start doing that web comic we’ve talked about, oh, since forever ago.

He’s so awesome. I’m way proud of him. <3

Also, tonight we decided to have Rubio's and sat on their little patio. I now have 14 mosquito bites, mostly on my ankles and calves coz I was wearing shorts. OMFG. I hope I don't have west nile virus and freakin' die. That'd suck so bad. They itch with a fury, and I mustn't scratch. BUT OH SWEET JEEBUS HOW I WANT TO.

In other local news, I totally rocked my first biology test. Like a hurricane, or a rogue wave, or some other awesome force of nature, beating that test down like a wussy little five year old. Then I slapped him and stole his binky, laughing maniacally. Take THAT, bio test.

Good Posture

September 19th, 2006

Note: This was from last week, but I saved instead of publishing. And I haven’t yet figured out how to change dates. Lamesauce.
You know what? I have crappy posture at my desk. I have the most uber-comfy chair, but no matter what, I’m either sitting on the very edge and slouching, or i’m leaning forward and hunching. If I make myself sit back in my chair properly, I’m totally comfortable. But there are two factors that make this difficult:

  1. I play videogames. On my computer. And usually at the first battle I lean or scoot forward, getting closer to the screen
  2. I carry my huuuuuuuuuuge backpack around at ASU 4 days a week. Walking from my car to campus (and all over campus) with my liter of water and laptop and binder and books all slung on my back, is not good for my back. Especially since I hunch to accomodate for my weak knees.

It’s clear I need to have a seatbelt on my gaming chair, a rickshaw to get me around the campus and a good massage to get all these kinks out of my knotty back.

i love WoW

Kobold Shirt! So, apparently Blizzard has endorsed an online store called J!NX, which just happens to have some of the coolest WoW-shirts I’ve ever seen. AND patches, stickers and buttons. OMFG. I’m especially fond of the kobold, camp taurajo, for the horde and alliance shirts. Oh man. I should totally buy sevend shirts and wear one EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. That’d be awesome. Hehhehe.

In school-related news I spent several hours last night making BIOLOGY FLASHCARDS. Yikes. They include fun questions like:

What do peroxisomes do?

Cells in culture are what shape and why?

How many lipid layers are in the cell membrane ? And what happens if 2 hydrophobic pockets align with each other?

Even more fun, this week in lab we’re gonna get to play with E COLI! Awesome-ly GROSS!

I love ThinkGeek

Nintendo Alarm ClockThis is totally awesome. An alarm clock that looks like an old-school Nintendo controller, and makes Super Mario Brothers noises! OMFG, it’s brilliant! I also enjoy their new Pluto T-shirt.

In other news, I am now quite terrified of what will be on my first biology test (apparently EVERYTHING) and recorded today’s lecture in order to improve my notes. Unfortunately, Capco likes to dash about the lecture hall and so the sound quality changes randomly. I think I’ll have to listen to it at home, late in the quiet of the night, with headphones, to ensure I get every word. But I soooooooooooooooooo adore Travis for finding his mini-recorder and a gazillion tapes for me. It may just save me. ;)

this is so cool!

IKEA sells curtain wire with little metal clips. I LOVE THIS. There’s like 50,000 things you could do with these babies.

  • Artsy way of hanging up Polaroids (or regular, boring photos) in your apartment
  • Leave cute notes for your boyfriend (or roomates)
  • Clip up lists of things to do, shopping lists, books to buy, lists galore!
  • Trap very tiny people by clipping the shoulders of their clothes.
  • See if you can be tazed by holding a clip at one end while your friend puts the tazer to the clip at the other end (Warning: Do not try this at home, you may be hurt or DIE HORRIBLY)
  • More amazing stuff I haven’t even thought of!

PS: I saw this on, and the following photos is from, Brainfuel.

i <3 biology

September 4th, 2006

I may have mentioned this previously. But i sure do love biology. It’s so effing interesting to learn about the tiny little cells and how they work inside a social system. Too bad I get so drawn into the lectures that I don’t write down everything. I was trying to double-check some stuff from the first week’s study guide, and for the first time ever wikipedia let me down! It had nothing on the items I searched for, though there is some general cell biology information.

Including this awesome picture of a eukaryotic cell! w00t!

cell biology is good for your mind!

I did lots of skool work this weekend, when I wasn’t playing City of Heroes. Damn Travis and his tempting ways. Looks like I’ve been converted, coz I’m seriously considering buying the game on Friday. Another $15 a month for gaming goodness? Is that madness? Will I even play it, with Saturdays devoted to WoW? Maybe I should just install it on my computer and use his account when he’s not…

saturdays are the best days

September 2nd, 2006

I woke up at 6:30 am today. I am programmed. School monkey cannot escape her early-rising fate. Ah well, Travis had an awful headache last night so he slept a bajillion hours and woke up at the exact same time as me.

We had breakfast, a nap, and then we played Warcraft until our poor, starving bellies screamed & pleaded for sustenance. We gave in to the evil gods of fatty-fatness, and had Sonic. Those bastards didn’t sonic-size my tots! I need more tots! Grrrr. Oh well, I could hardly eat the ones I had. I guess I don’t need more tots. I don’t want to die due to rupture of the stomach. Eww, gross.

And then… more Warcraft! Today in WoW I: harassed Levi Jones, semi-planned a Jeep outing with Kat & Co., lost a duel to Levi (damnit), mined & skinned stuff and turned in some quests. I also got a sweet new dagger, so now I run around poking things with it while I hold a beer-type-mug in my off-hand. I am a mage with mug! FEAR ME!!!

Justin’s site is so close to done. I do a little dance! *Dancey, dance, dance*

Tomorrow’s plan: Metric Assloads of Homework.
Best to save it all for one grueling day of pain. My intentions are: to organize my Biology and Medical Anthropology notes into sensible-ness; write a short paper for English; consider possible topic for the hugely-important integrative paper (which is graded by all 3 teachers, yay); take 3 Algebra tests and drag myself that much closer to getting my math at a university level.

OMG!

August 31st, 2006

My birthday’s in 3 weeks! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO ON MY FREAKING BIRTHDAY. Nor do I know what I want, besides the t-shirt Travis promised to make me. :) I will have Bio & the Lab that day, which is good, since I love bio. But after I get out of class I have a whole evening to do birthday shenanigans… what the eff am I going to DO??!?!

I find myself incredibly restless, but unmotivated.

August 29th, 2006

Which isn’t to say I haven’t been productive today. I’ve already done my homework and I did a practice test for math. Did edits on Justin’s website, which is getting closer & closer to launch-readiness, and sent emails about school stuff. So, now it’s 9:30 and I should be exhausted, but I have a lingering wakefulness. (Is that even a word?)

I have personal projects and real work to do, but I have no desire to do either. I don’t want to be play videogames or read or anything. I’m just so blah right now. Why aren’t I tired?!?!?

Why is it that when I have no time at all I can think of 50 things I’d loooove to do, but when I have free time I can’t think of most of those things, and even if I do I don’t want to do any of them? I must be outta my gourd.
I want to work on my shopping cart. VPN, I demand you exist now!
